A Little Welcome to Settle Petal Yoga

If you’ve found your way here, welcome. I’m so glad you’re here.

I’m Leesa, the face behind Settle Petal Yoga, and I’ve been teaching yoga for over 10 years. Over that time, one thing has become really clear to me…

Most people aren’t looking to become yoga experts.
They’re looking for a way to feel a little better.

Less stiff.
Less stressed.
A little calmer.
A little more connected to themselves again.

That’s exactly why I created Settle Petal Yoga.

I wanted to create classes that felt welcoming, relaxed and free from pressure. No needing to be flexible. No fancy poses. No worrying about whether you’re “good” at yoga.

Just movement, breathing and a chance to slow down for a while.

I teach a mix of classes including Gentle Yoga, Senior Yoga, Restorative Yoga, Chair Yoga, Vinyasa and fun sessions like Sip & Stretch. Some classes are slow and grounding, others are a little more social and light-hearted, but all of them are designed to help you leave feeling better than when you arrived.

Over the years, I’ve also had the chance to host retreats both locally around Rockhampton and Yeppoon, as well as overseas in beautiful places like Bali, Komodo, Nepal and now Sri Lanka. Retreats have become one of my favourite parts of what I do because there’s something special about watching people truly switch off, relax and reconnect with themselves again.

At the heart of everything I offer is the belief that yoga should feel accessible and supportive. Real life is busy enough already. Your yoga class doesn’t need to feel intimidating too.

Some days yoga might mean stretching and breathing deeply. Other days it might simply mean lying quietly on the mat trying not to think about your to-do list for an hour. Both count. 😄

Through Notes from the Mat, I’ll be sharing little bits of yoga life, retreat stories, thoughts on slowing down and reminders to breathe every now and then.

So whether you’re joining me for a class, following along online, dreaming about a retreat, or simply stopping by for a read, welcome to Settle Petal Yoga.

I’m really happy you’re here.

Until next time..... - life feels better when you exhale.
